Mira takes tennis

This spring, Mira wanted to try a new sport! We enrolled her in tennis lessons at Lifetime Fitness. She really enjoyed her lessons and we'll look to continue them this summer. Here are some photos of her, swinging away!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Mira and Amelia want to wish you all a Happy Valentine's Day! They made some valentine's for their grandparents at home on afternoon. At school and daycare, they had parties and brought valentines for all their friends and classmates. It was a fun year for them since they made their own valentine's this year.

Chris and I decided to beat the crowds and head out for dinner on the 13th instead . . . alone! We got a sitter and headed to a local restaurant for a quiet adult dinner. Heavenly!

Lake of the Isles Loppet

Chris's company, Park Nicollet, was one of the sponsors what was the Lake of the Isles Loppet this year. A loppet is a cross-country skiing race. But, due to lack of snow, the event was moved to Theodore Wirth Parkway. This was a good thing, because since they had to make the snow for the race, we were able to participate in a hike that is usually done on skis. It was a beautiful night! A crisp 30 degrees, wonderfully bright moon, hot cocoa, cookies, and a fire eater/dancer! The girls and Chris and I enjoyed the walk through the wooded area, lit by luminaries in ice.

Lindell Winter Gathering

Hello! What a wonderful time we all had at the 2nd annual Lindell Winter Gathering! Hoping to see even more of you next year! There was talk about moving it to April, near Grandma's birthday for next year (or even having another one this year!). Then we can celebrate her birthday, plus there will be fewer travel worries in later April.

Here are a combination of photos from myself and Bonnie (thanks for sending them, Bonnie!). Loved seeing you all there. Really looking forward to next year!

Mira's school mural

Mira's class did a mural of a nutcracker. Each student did a small part. Here is their finished project, plus another small mural they created!

Christmas Morning 2011

We had a lovely Christmas Day with just the four of us this year. We all slept in, then opened presents and had breakfast. The day was spent lazing around and playing the new XBox Kinect games we bought for the girls. Mira and Amelia scored new t-shirts and flashlights from Santa!

Playing games on the Kinect. Hours of fun!
And, in a very unusual day, we were able to take a wonderful family walk through the neighborhood!

Christmas Eve at Randy and Terrie's house

We had a wonderful Christmas Eve at Randy and Terrie's house! It was fun to see relatives and the food was delicious. Thanks so much for hosting us!

Football game with Grandpa

In December, Grandpa Randy took Mira to her first Vikings game. She loved it and even scored herself a Vikings jersey, which she wears to school every week.
