Chris and I spent today setting up Mira's "big girl" room. We wanted to get her into a new room before the baby comes so that we can use the crib for the baby. Mira is so excited to be in her new room as we've been talking about it for a few weeks now. We painted the walls a nice spring green and decorated with white furniture accented with small pink roses. We plan to put a border up around the middle of the room soon. I bought all the furniture, except for the bed, on Craigslist.com. Some great deals to be had on that site!
So tonight is Mira's first night in a twin bed. Let's hope all goes well with that!

Adorable! I'm excited to hear how she sleeps in her twin bed. I'll have to take notes for when we switch Rowan to a big boy room someday.
Happy nesting!

Mira has slept really well so far in her twin bed. Fortunately, she doesn't move around alot when she sleeps, so we didn't go all out and get the bed rails. BUT I did read somewhere that you can purchase those styrofoam swimming pool noodles and tuck them underneath the sheet so that it forms a sort of ledge. I bought one, cut it in half, and put one on each side of her. Gives her a little barrier without being a pain to have to get over. Works for us! We talked up the big girl room for quite some time and Mira had a hand in helping to decorate and decide what could go where. And she helped me move her clothes from her old dresser to the new one, as well as her books. She gets lots of praise and we set up three bedroom rules that she likes to repeat: 1) No jumping on the bed. 2) No climbing on the dresser or bookcase. 3) Don't get out of your bed until the sun comes up. She hasn't broken a rule yet and is so proud of herself when morning comes and she's succeeded in following her rules.
