Birthday, Valentine's box, conferences, and Amelia's favorite pajamas

My birthday was on Tuesday. I had the most wonderful day. I always take the day off on my birthday, and largely spend the day alone, having lots of "me" time. This year was no different. I started the day at Starbucks with a new magazine and a venti chai, moved on to Barnes and Noble to browse the books, then to Michael's and Joann's to look for beads and inspiration, and then got a massage. It was heaven! Chris and the girls gave it to me for my birthday (along with a great milk frother I've been asking for so I can replicate my Starbuck's chai's at home for a fraction of the cost). Then I met Chris and the girls at PF Changs for lunch (hello, great wall of chocolate cake!). I usually follow it up with a movie, but decided to lie in my bed and watch "Julie and Julia" instead. It was a great day!

On Sunday, Chris's mom and Wayne took us out for brunch at the St. Paul Grill. Delicious! Here is a photo of the group:

Mira spent this evening working on her Valentine's Day box for school. She did a wonderful job decorating it! Mira also had her conferences last night for kindergarten. They went very well! Mrs. Hill said Mira is very bright and gets along with everyone. She's a great leader in her class and really enjoys when her successes are acknowledged. We loved hearing all that about Mira (but we knew anyway!)
And Amelia is beyond IN LOVE with her princess jammies. And not just any pair. She over-the-moon loves her nightgown princess jammies. She insists on wearing them every. Single. Night. And cries and cries if they are dirty. Chris has a heck of a time getting them off her in the morning to get dressed for daycare. So we bought her another pair (and I think I will be getting her another pair soon!). So she is happy as a clam in her pink nightgown princess pajamas. She asks to put them on THE SECOND we get home every day. Ahh, to love something that much. It's amazing how happy she gets when she's wearing them.
Stay warm these next few days! Spring is coming soon!
