While Chris and Mira took Winter to the vet today for his well puppy checkup (he's completely healthy!), Amelia and I made Ginger-Spice muffins. They are delicious! Everyone thought they were a big hit!

January thaw
Oh, how wonderful to feel this "warm" weather in the 30's! Chris even took the girls and Winter to the park today to tucker them out, while I spent some quality time with a friend out on the town. It's been a week since an update, but with all the Christmas's over, there hasn't been much going on. We did have a holiday gathering at Chris's mom's house. It was a delicious brunch! The girls got lots of presents (as usual!) and it was a nice relaxing afternoon. Here is a family photo and a couple others. Thanks, Amelia, for the tummy shot. I guess we'll try for another family photo soon.

Last night, instead of dinner, we popped popcorn and had a movie night. Mira got "Hotel for Dogs" for Christmas, so we watched that. It's a sweet movie. We dimmed the lights and enjoyed a family night.
Winter (our puppy, not the season) seems to be adjusting to life at the Cook home pretty well. We are still dealing with all the puppy things, like nipping, peeing in the house (uggh!), and chewing, but he's doing pretty well and each day gets better. Mira and Amelia sure love him, and Chris gets lots of quality time with Winter every day.

Hope you are all enjoying the January thaw. Here's to praying the bitter, bitter cold is behind us and we can have a mild rest of the season.

glad its "warming up" for you out there. Chesney and Logan love popcorn/movie nights also.
It's amazing how different the world feels when the temps rise 20-30 degrees!
I am surprised you did not include Winter in your post!! Yes it does feel warmer even if only near freezing. Glad you had a great Christmas!! Love you all, Mom
