Two rooms become one . . . and splish splash! {Aug. 22}

Well, last night we discovered our sump pump broke sometime in the last two days. The carpet in most of our basement is squishy wet. So today, we've been dealing with this mess, working with our insurance and waiting around for the carpet people to come and pull up all the water and dry out the mess. We have several industrial fans, ready to go once the water is sucked up. Not a great day.
So, I decided that since we need to move all the toys out of the basement and upstairs to make things easier for the carpet people, I'd combine the girls' bedrooms into one room and make the other bedroom a dedicated playroom. Getting Amelia's crib out wasn't easy, but other than that, it worked out great! Mira and Amelia are happily playing in their new playroom right now. They are seeing toys they haven't seen in a long while, and my living room is looking cleaner and less cluttered! There is still some organization that needs to be done. I think I need a bin system or something, but we love the playroom, and I think the girls will enjoy sharing a room.

sucks about the basement. hope nothing got damaged. Mira's room looks surprisingly large with the extra bed in it- it will be a good move. one word- Ikea. the have the best bin system for kids toys. and reasonably priced- check them out

I know its very stressful for you with your flooded basement...This is what insurance is for!!! Hope it does not take too long for it all to return to normal. Love what you have done with the girls room. They will really enjoy their new playing space. Cute!! Love, Mom

This to shall pass (THAT STATEMENT REALLY HELPS!)...but is isn't a good time to have this problem with all Chris and you are dealing with..health-wise! Wish I was "strong like bull" and lived closer. I love how you incorporated the girls in one room and have the play room for another...Maybe you'll keep it this way for awhile. Grandma Martha and I shared a room till I said I-DO! Of course Margene had her own room (a pampered little girl!)Take care and hope things get better.
Love you, Bonnie
